The Rotaplast Speech Pathology Team Visits Cebu Doctors University

The meeting of the day marked a meaningful step in building partnerships that strengthen care for children served in Rotaplast missions.

The Rotaplast Speech Pathology Team from A.T. Still University in Arizona met with the Dean, faculty members, and 2nd year Speech Pathology interns of Cebu Doctors’ University for a productive exchange of knowledge, best practices, and insights into their respective speech pathology programs. Joining the discussion online was Rotaplast Director Daniel De Santo, who shared the broader vision of strengthening academic collaboration in support of future Rotaplast missions.

Leading the Rotaplast team were Dr. Marlene Salas-Provance, Bailey Clement, and Adriana Gonzales, all dedicated professionals from ATSU who generously shared their expertise in speech pathology care, particularly in supporting children with cleft conditions.

Accompanying the Rotaplast Speech Pathology Team were officers of the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre, headed by AG Nestor Toledo, PAG Antonio Tan Jr., and IPP Kit Daleon, reaffirming the club’s strong support for initiatives that expand the impact of the mission beyond surgery.

The discussion explored the possibility of future exchange programs between ATSU and CDU, an initiative that could provide opportunities for learning, training, and collaboration that will benefit upcoming Rotaplast missions.

Encounters like this remind us that Rotaplast’s mission goes beyond the operating room. By sharing knowledge, building partnerships, and investing in future professionals, we help ensure that the gift of healing continues for many more children in the years ahead.
