Rotary District 3790 Gov. Elect Zeny Dela Cruz urges Rotarians to create real and lasting impact in people's lives

Rotary International District 3790 Governor Elect Zenny Sicat Dela Cruz urged Rotarians to always be guided with Rotary’s principal motto “Service Above Self.”

In her message as guest of honor and speaker during the regular meeting of the Rotary Club of Baguio North held lately at Baguio Country Club she called on Rotarians to look beyond the number of projects conducted or photographs posted on social media.

“Because I am a Rotarian, whose life has become better? The meaningful service should create real and lasting impact in people's lives,” Dela Cruz said underscoring the importance of initiating larger and more meaningful projects for the community in need.

Moreover, she emphasized on the importance of diversity within Rotary Clubs and to welcome different professions, generations, experiences, perspectives, and ideas including addressing the continuing challenge of membership and growth.

“Don't simply grow Rotary. Grow Rotarians. Grow good Rotarians. If the club develops people with integrity, leadership, meaningful commitment to service, and respect for others, membership growth will become a natural result,” she added.

On leadership and development, she lauded RCBN for its leadership legacy having produced five district governors but at the same time she challenged the club to look beyond its past achievements.

She also stressed that leadership is not simply about producing club presidents or district governors but rather discovering the potential of people before they even recognize that potential in themselves and new and younger members should be given opportunities to participate, lead, and develop their capabilities.

Meanwhile, RCBN president Franklin V. Pagnas asserted to focus on building sustainable partnerships, empowering communities, and creating projects that will continue to benefit people beyond the present Rotary year.

DGE Dela Cruz was warmly welcomed by Pagnas, District 3790 Past District Governor Mark Go, Immediate Past District Governor Dan Torres, IPP Ayson Guron, and other officers and members of the club.
