Rotary District 3860, under the leadership of District Governor Caroline “Caycay” Andrade, marked a meaningful milestone with her visit to the 20th Rotaplast International Cebu Medical Mission. Held in Cebu, this mission continues its vital work of providing free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children in need — transforming not only faces, but futures.
During her visit, DG Caycay witnessed firsthand the compassion and dedication that power this mission.
She met with volunteer surgeons, nurses, speech therapists, and Rotarians, each playing a crucial role in restoring confidence and hope to children and families affected by cleft conditions.
Now in its 20th year, the Rotaplast Cebu Mission has changed hundreds of lives, offering not just surgical care, but comprehensive support including speech therapy, feeding assessments, and family counseling.
Her visit underscored Rotary’s enduring mission — Service Above Self — and highlighted the profound impact of collaboration between local and international partners. With every successful surgery, a child’s world opens up to new possibilities — and that’s a cause worth smiling about.
