After a week of healing smiles and changing lives, it was time to care for the hearts behind the mission.
Our dedicated Rotaplast International medical team stepped away, even just for a moment, to breathe, to smile, and to experience the beauty of Cebu beyond the operating room. From the rich history of Fort San Pedro to the cultural treasures of the National Museum, from the sacred grounds of Magellan’s Cross, where they were welcomed by the vibrant rhythm of the Sinulog dance, to the solemn grace of the Basilica del Sto. Niño, every stop became a reminder of the soul of our people.
They walked through heritage at Casa Gorordo, shared stories over a warm Filipino meal at Cafe Laguna, feasting on beloved dishes like crispy pata, rellenong talong, and kare-kare and enjoyed a bit of leisure and laughter at SM Seaside and Kultura, bringing home pieces of Cebu as “pasalubong.”
More than a tour, it was a moment of gratitude. A chance to give back, even in a small way, to those who have given so much of themselves.
This meaningful experience was made possible by the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre, led by Dir. Michael Ray Go, with the invaluable guidance of Tour Guide Edward “Al” Cuizon.
Because those who serve tirelessly also deserve to be refreshed, appreciated, and reminded that their impact goes far beyond the lives they heal, it touches communities, cultures, and hearts.
