The Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre once again lived out Rotary’s calling to be People of Action. Responding to the request of Tejero Elementary School–Alternative Learning System (ALS) through its principal, Ms. Churchita Padernal, RCCPC extended support by donating essential school supplies such as bond papers, plastic envelopes, printer inks, pencils, and more.
This initiative directly addresses one of Rotary International’s Areas of Focus—Basic Education and Literacy—by helping create a more supportive learning environment for both teachers and students. To further this cause, the Club also provided the free installation of an air-conditioning unit for the ALS classroom.
During the visit, discussions were also made on the urgent repair of the ALS building’s roofing due to leaks and ceiling damage, as well as the repair of its facade—an infrastructure RCCPC proudly donated 20 years ago.
Representing RCCPC were President Walter Ong, IPP Kit Daleon, Treasurer Jerome Villordon, Dir. Robert Barquilla, Rtn. Michael Ray Go, and Rtn. Jerone Castillo. Representing Tejero Elementary School were Principal Churchita Padernal and Teachers Edna Piañar, Jerlyn Palata, and Sheila Baculi—partners in sustaining education for the community.
Together, we are gamechangers united for good—ensuring that education, opportunity, and service continue to thrive for the next generation.
