Rotary District 3860 once again proved that the greatest gift we can give is the gift of life through our Blood Letting Activity 2026 at GMall of Cebu.
The day began on a deeply spiritual note with a Holy Mass celebrated by Rotarian Rev. Fr. Gerald Borja, CM, reminding us that every act of service is an expression of God’s love for humanity.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was hearing the heartfelt message of Past District Governor Antonio “Anton” Florendo, who shared the remarkable journey of this noble initiative that he founded 28 years ago on December 19, 1998, during his term as District Governor (RY 1998-1999) with the theme, “Follow Your Rotary Dream”. His vision has grown into a District legacy that continues to save lives year after year. Likewise, we were equally inspired by the message of Rotarian Anton Mari Perdices, Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross–Cebu Chapter, whose steadfast partnership continues to strengthen this life-saving mission.
This meaningful undertaking would not have been possible without the unwavering support of our valued partners: Philippine Red Cross–Cebu Chapter, GMall of Cebu through CEO Mr. Joey Gaisano, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, Philippine National Police Region 7, Brigada News FM Cebu 90.7, our dedicated Rotaractors from the Rotaract Clubs of Cebu Fuente, Mandaue East, and Metro Cebu, our enthusiastic Interactors from the Interact Club of Mandaue East, and our four Lead Clubs—Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente, Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre, Rotary Club of Metro Cebu, and Rotary Club of Mandaue East. To every volunteer, donor, nurse, doctor, medical professional, and support staff, your compassion transformed this event into a true celebration of humanity.
The Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre (RCCPC) proudly stood in solidarity, led by President Segismundo Exaltacion, Jr., together with PDGs Anton Florendo and Ted Locson, DGN Jensen Racho, VP Clark Byron Gothong, PAG Antonio Ynoc and Gloria, PAG Nestor Toledo and Menie, DITO Jeffrey Philip Tan and Vanessa, PP Toby Florendo, Public Image Chair Marvin Soco (Event Emcee), Directors Jason Celestino and Cathy, Bobby Adan, Atty. Timothy Yu, Rotarians Jim Fink and Racquel, and Prakash Mahtani. Their presence reflected RCCPC’s unwavering commitment to Rotary’s ideal of Service Above Self.
Every bag of blood collected represents more than a donation, it is hope for a mother, a second chance for a child, strength for a patient, and a lifeline for someone we may never meet. This is Rotary at its finest: ordinary people coming together to create extraordinary impact. As we just culminated the Blood Letting Activity 2026, we have 146 registered blood donors and 93 successful blood collection or a total of 41.850 liters of blood.
Together, we didn’t just donate blood, we shared hope, inspired compassion, and reminded the world that one act of kindness can save many lives.
