The Rotary Club of Kalookan North's Project "SALAMIN" is a District Grant-funded initiative. The project beneficiaries were Grade 3 and 6 pupils of the Caloocan Central Elementary
School located at P. Zamora Street, Grace Park, Caloocan City. The project had two phases. The initial phase consisted of eye screening conducted on February 11, 2026, while the second phase was held on February 27, 2026 involving the distribution of prescribed eyeglasses.
Children are not always aware that they are nearsighted, farsighted, or have astigmatism. If not corrected, children's academic performance can suffer and will negatively impact
their overall well-being.
This initiative aimed at ensuring that children with vision difficulties can fully participate in classroom learning, reduce absenteeism, and enhance their quality of life.
Good President Ben Lee headed the project. Club members present during the tweo phases were President-Nominee Deim Dela Pena, President-Nominee Designate Joel Mirasol, PP Ricky Santos, PP Rudy Alcantara, Rtn. Ollie Umbao, Rtn. Gary Crisostomo, Rtn. Terence Custodio, and Rtn. Nico Pengson.
