This simple truth inspired the Rotary Club of San Mateo to celebrate Basic Education and Literacy Month with a heartwarming project—Rotary Loves Day Care Children.
September 2, 2025 was such a special day, 80 bright and eager learners received more than just gifts—they received tools for growth. The beneficiaries are the day care students of Dulongbayan 2 in San Mateo Rizal. Each child was given an art kit to nurture imagination and self-expression.
The club likewise provided a short talk on basic sanitation such as proper hand washing and proper teeth-brushing and distributed hygiene kits that includes a small cup, hand towel, toothbrush, hand soap and toothpaste to promote health and confidence. Yakult drinks were likewise given as a healthy snack that morning.
These essentials represent Rotary’s belief that education and well-being go hand in hand. “Education is not just about books; it’s about giving children the tools and confidence to imagine a better and healthier future, said Good President Alts Fetalvero.
This initiative is part of Rotary’s commitment to Basic Education and Literacy and serves as a reminder that a small act of kindness can create a ripple of hope for the next generation.
'Rotary Loves Day Care Children' was made possible through the dedication of Rotarians and partners who believe that every child deserves a bright start.
