Wheels of Hope: RC San Fernando La Union and City Police Lift Lives In Santiago Sur

In a heartwarming act of kindness, the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), in partnership with the City of San Fernando Police Station, brought hope and comfort to a person with disability in Barangay Santiago Sur on October 4, 2025.

The morning sun had barely risen when the team embarked on their journey through rugged and hilly terrain to reach the humble home of Nanay Adelaida N. Caccam, a stroke survivor who has spent years confined by her limited mobility. The path was rough, but the group’s resolve was firm—because service, as Rotarians often say, knows no boundaries.

When the team arrived, Nanay Adelaida welcomed them with a smile that spoke volumes. Her home, simple yet filled with warmth, became the setting for a touching moment of generosity as she received her new wheelchair—a gift that promised not just mobility, but renewed independence and dignity.

Upon receiving the wheelchair, Nanay Adelaida expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying the gift would bring back a sense of ease and freedom in her daily life.

The outreach served as a meaningful reminder that compassion and community spirit can transform lives. Through this act of kindness, RCSFLU and the City Police reaffirmed their shared commitment to reaching out to the most vulnerable members of society.

Their journey to the outskirts of Santiago Sur was more than a delivery—it was a testament to how far dedication and empathy can go when people unite for a shared cause. As they left the small home nestled on the hillside, smiles and gratitude filled the air, proving once more that hope truly moves on wheels.
