A Day of Healing: “Unite for San Fernando City” 59-in-1 Mission Delivers Specialized Care to Poro ResidentsSan Fernando City, La Union — Thousands of residents in Barangay Poro and its neighboring communities received a comprehensive and specialized array of medical and dental services during the monumental "Unite for San Fernando City: 59-in-1 Medical and Dental Mission" held on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Far exceeding the scope of a typical health drive, the mission provided highly specialized services thanks to a powerful alliance of local government, international religious groups, and volunteer medical experts from some of the nation's top hospitals.
Specialized Services Bring National Expertise to the Local Level.
The 59-in-1 mission was distinguished by the depth and specialization of the free medical care provided, bridging the gap between local health services and national-level expertise.
Key services offered included:
Cardiovascular Services
Dental Services
Physical Therapy
Labortary Examinations
OB GYN
Pap Test
Pediatrics
ECG Testing
Opthalmology
Free Glasses
Free Medicine
Dental Extraction
Urinalysis
Fasting Blood Sugar Test
The availability of specialized diagnostics like ECG and Pap Tests, alongside consultations in Cardiology, Pulmonology, and OB-GYN, ensured that residents received high-value preventive and curative care that is often costly and inaccessible.
The success of the mission was a testament to the seamless collaboration among various dedicated partners, uniting for a common cause:
The Volunteer Medical Contingent
The backbone of the specialized services was the team of volunteer doctors affiliated with prestigious institutions, including the Heart Center of the Philippines, Lung Center of the Philippines, National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI), and ManilaMed Hospital. Their presence guaranteed top-tier medical expertise for the local community.
Civic and Religious Partners
The organizing efforts were powered by the Lay Missionaries of MPS and the Missionaries of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Asia Region. Their coordination skills and spiritual dedication laid the groundwork for the successful logistical execution of the mission.
Local Government and Civic Support
Crucial support was provided by local pillars of service:
City Government of San Fernando, La Union
City Health Office and General Services Office
