TULAY NG KINABUKASAN

Arcadio Elementary School, located in Balangkas, Valenzuela City, has been a consistent beneficiary of the Rotary Club of Valenzuela South since the partnership began in 2003. The

collaboration was initiated during the presidency of PP Reynaldo S. Acurantes, marked by the construction of the school’s first handwashing facility.

Over the years, the Rotary Club of Valenzuela South has continued its support through various projects. Notably, during the term of PP John Alexis Sembrano, a new handwashing facility was built, accompanied by the installation of the Rotary marker. Undeterred by the pandemic, during the life-changing year, it remained steadfast in its commitment to the Arcadio Elementary School, the club was able to provide 500 pieces of notebooks to then stay-at-home students while teachers and other staff were provided with essential facemasks, face shields and alcohol. More recently, under the leadership of IPP Bon Hipolito, the club constructed pathway shade and donated trash bins and cleaning materials, further enhancing the school’s facilities and promoting cleanliness.

This year, the Good President consulted the faculty members on how the club can help the school. Their response, construction of a footbridge connecting the two main buildings of the school.

The Tulay ng Kinabukasan project aims to help students and school personnels to have a better access to both buildings. Risk of accidents will be reduced by providing a secured and safe passage for the students as they will be kept away from congested lobbies, uneven terrain and muddy paths during rainy seasons.

The project was completed on October 15, 2025 and was officially turned over on November 4 of the same year.

Now the bridge serves not only as a passageway between buildings but also as an alternative route during emergencies and evacuations. This made movement faster and more efficient, especially during class transitions. Furthermore, students with disabilities or those with mobility challenges can now easily navigate the school.

Tulay ng Kinabukasan is not just a simple construction of bridge, it is a testament to the club’s dedication in providing a safe, conducive and encouraging environment for everyone in the school community. The bridge will stand as witness as little kids build their dreams for a better future.
