Sharing Blessings: Rotary Extends Compassion During the Holy Month of Ramadan

For the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Biyaya, service means reaching out with compassion wherever there is a need—regardless of culture, faith, or background. On March 8, 2026, the club once again brought hope and kindness to the Darul Ferdauz Educational Center in Maharlika Village, Taguig City through its meaningful outreach project, “Sharing of Blessings.”

Maharlika Village is home to one of Metro Manila’s vibrant Muslim communities, where young students are nurtured in both education and faith. In observance of Ramadan, the sacred month of reflection, prayer, and generosity in Islam, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Biyaya distributed Iftar food packs to the young wards and Ustadz of the center—ensuring that the children could break their fast with nourishment and dignity.

The initiative was spearheaded by Past President Maiah Decampong-Maranda, continuing a tradition of compassion that the club has sustained for several years. The activity was also joined during the event by Rotarian Spouse Aldon Maranda, whose presence reflected the strong fellowship and commitment of Rotary families in serving communities.

The outreach was made possible through the support of fellow Rotarians and generous partners including Oshan Amarillo Landicho, RTN Paul Domingo and spouse Alma Grasya, and Rotarian Eloisa Eustaquio, along with donors who helped bring the project to life.

The event was filled with smiles, gratitude, and meaningful interactions between Rotarians and the children of the community. For many of the students, the simple act of sharing a meal during Ramadan became a reminder that they are supported and remembered by people who care.

“Sharing Blessings is not only about giving food—it is about building bridges of understanding, respect, and compassion among communities,” said President Karl Landicho of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Biyaya. “Through service, we are reminded that kindness has the power to unite people beyond differences in culture or faith.”

Through initiatives like Sharing of Blessings, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Biyaya continues to embody the true spirit of Service Above Self, strengthening bonds of goodwill while uplifting communities with hope and dignity.
