Sagip Buhay: Patak ng Pag-asa

The Rotary Club of Valenzuela, under the compassionate leadership of Good President Jennelyn Candido, continues to uplift the city through its lifesaving blood donation initiative, “Sagip Buhay: Patak ng Pag-asa.”

Despite it being a Sunday on 16 November 2025, the Rotary Club of Valenzuela successfully carried out a bloodletting project in partnership with the Knights of Columbus. The joint initiative brought together volunteers, donors, and community members who dedicated their time to support this life-saving cause. The collaboration strengthened the spirit of service between the two organizations, helping ensure a stable supply of blood for those in need. Their collective effort demonstrated compassion, commitment, and the willingness to serve the community beyond personal schedules and weekend rest.

More than a program, this blood-letting project has become a vital pillar of the community—one that ensures that no Valenzuelano stands alone during medical emergencies. For many families, the availability of blood becomes the difference between fear and relief, between uncertainty and survival. To make this impact possible, the Rotary Club designed the drive to be truly within reach of every citizen. By offering flexible schedules and multiple venues, the program welcomes everyone: shift workers coming off duty, busy parents balancing responsibilities, even first-time donors searching for the right moment to help. This approach carries a meaningful message: saving a life should never depend on convenience; it should be an opportunity open to all.

At the heart of this mission are, among tohers, the Rotarians—individuals who choose service over rest, purpose over routine. Weekends that could have been spent recovering are dedicated instead to guiding donors, coordinating logistics, and ensuring each drive runs with warmth and care. Their dedication breathes life into Rotary’s principle of Service Above Self, proving that true service is measured in actions, not intentions.

This year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” echoes through every blood drive. Rotarians, partners, volunteers, and donors stand together with a shared commitment: to bring hope to those fighting for another day. Each successful donation becomes a silent but powerful gift, an act that may rescue a stranger, strengthen a family, or give a patient one more sunrise. Sagip Buhay: Patak ng Pag-asa remains simple in purpose yet extraordinary in impact, a community bound by compassion, giving time, effort, and a part of themselves so that others may live.

In every drop collected, Valenzuela proves that when a city comes together, hope flows, healing follows, and countless lives are transformed.
