RYLA 2025: A Historic Gathering of Young Leaders in Butuan City

The Rotary Club of Central Butuan proudly hosted the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) 2025—a landmark event that made history not only for its scale but also for the energy and inspiration it brought to Butuan City.

With deep gratitude, we thank RYLA Chair Remuel Coles and District Governor Caroline Andrade for the trust and opportunity to bring this momentous gathering to life. For the first time in over a decade, RYLA was held for almost three full days—an exciting leap from the usual one-day format in previous years.

This year’s RYLA reached a record-breaking 91 registered delegates, the highest attendance in the past ten years. From the moment the event began, the venue was filled with vibrant enthusiasm, as evident in the bright smiles, laughter, and heartfelt engagement of the youth leaders present.

Day One opened with inspiring plenary sessions from esteemed speakers who ignited the participants’ passion for leadership, service, and personal growth. The night came alive with RYLA’s Got Talent and the fun and fabulous Mr. and Ms. RYLA, showcasing creativity, confidence, and camaraderie.

Day Two focused on Team Building,  with our amazing Facilitators, where participants strengthened bonds through challenges and activities that promoted collaboration, trust, and leadership in action.

Day Three was dedicated to Community Service at Bahay Pag-asa, where RYLA delegates embraced the true spirit of Rotary—Service Above Self. It was a moving and meaningful experience that left a lasting impact on both the participants and the youth residents they served.

RYLA 2025 in Butuan City will long be remembered as a transformative and joyful event—a milestone of leadership, fellowship, and service. It wasn’t just a program; it was an experience that inspired young leaders to dream bigger, serve better, and lead with heart.
