The enchanting ambiance of the SMX Convention Center in Clark City provided the perfect backdrop for Rotary International District 3810’s Magical Midyear Review held from January 17 to 19, 2025. This year not only marked a significant moment in the Rotary calendar but also saw the Midyear Review change its venues, drawing on its rich history to inspire and unite the district’s vibrant community.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Pasay Southeast and expertly organized by an enthusiastic committee chair, SDG Ellen Landicho, this year’s Midyear Review embodied Rotary’s commitment to service, fellowship, and progress. The delegates, who enjoyed a comfortable stay just steps away at the Park Inn by Radisson, were welcomed with spacious suites and chic furnishings that provided a warm and inviting atmosphere.
The event, steered by District Governor Joaquin "Jackie" Rodriguez and Vice District Governor Liza Elorde, alongside Past District Governor Karen Tamayo and other District Executive Committee members, began on January 17 at 9:00 AM. The excitement was palpable as delegates registered and prepared for a day of sharing achievements and best practices. At 1:00 PM, District Governor "Jackie" Rodriguez officially called the assembly to order, launching into an intensive schedule of club reporting.
From 2:00 PM onwards, the Midyear Reporting sessions began, showcasing the accomplishments of an impressive 21 clubs, continuing until 7:40 PM. Clubs had the opportunity to highlight their impact on the community, underlining the spirit of collaboration and dedication that defines Rotary.
Day two commenced bright and early at 7:30 AM, with continued presentations from various clubs, culminating in a full day of enlightening reports that concluded at 5:30 PM. Following the rigorous discussions, attendees gathered for a delightful fellowship dinner, celebrating the camaraderie that Rotary promotes.
This year’s theme, “Magical Costume,” transformed the evening into a vibrant showcase of talent and creativity. Club teams took the stage to display their distinct abilities in singing and dancing, culminating in breathtaking performances. The highlight of the night was Team Enchanted, led by SDG Kenneth Jamandre, who triumphed not only for their outstanding performance but also claimed the title for best costume for both men and women. Their spirited representation encapsulated the essence of Rotary's values and dedication.
The fellowship night was further graced by the presence of District 3790 Governor Ariel Jersey, contributing to the celebratory atmosphere that embraced the entire event.
The final day, January 19, began with a heartwarming photo session capturing enduring memories of the remarkable fellowship built throughout the Midyear Review. This was followed by a closing program where all reporters received Certificates of Completion, recognizing their hard work and commitment. Special awards were also presented based on online votes from the Rotary Clubs, honoring the best performers in reporting.
The top ten recipients of the Midyear Review People's Choice Awards demonstrated the dedication and creativity of District 3810’s clubs. The awardees included MIP Alvin Teng, MIP Anna Sergio, MIP Catherine Castillo, MIP Charmaine Tiopez, MIP Sherril Quintana, MIP Reinaldo Flores (Tie), MIP Jocelyn Cancio, MIP Ersie Conception, MIP Marissa Garcia, MIP KLove Layague, and MIP Carl Combinido.
As the event drew to a close, District Governor Joaquin "Jackie" Rodriguez officially adjourned the Midyear Review with heartfelt gratitude to all participants and organizers, leaving everyone inspired and motivated to continue their impactful journeys in service.
The Magical Midyear Review 2025 proved to be more than just a meeting; it was a testament to fellowship, creativity, and the relentless pursuit of service that defines Rotary.
