On June 19, 2026, the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo conducted a comprehensive school needs assessment visit to two institutions in Aklan: Numancia National School of Fisheries (NNSF) in Numancia and Monlaque National High School in Ibajay. The activity was led by Past President Megs Lunn, Past President Ricky Molo, and Rotarian Angel Canoy, together with Rotaractors Angel Fajardo and Sky Suco, and RCC Albasan member Sandra dela Cruz, all working collaboratively to engage directly with school stakeholders.
The assessment forms part of Rotary’s continuing commitment to sustainable community development, with emphasis on Basic Education and Literacy, Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH), and Economic and Community Development. By engaging in direct dialogue with educators and school leaders—including NNSF Head Teacher IV and OIC School Principal Mr. Villomar T. Mojica and Monlaque National High School Teacher-in-Charge Mr. Walter S. Sorillo—the team gathered valuable insights to ensure that future initiatives are responsive to real, on-the-ground needs. The activity highlights Rotary’s belief that meaningful impact begins with understanding communities through active listening and collaboration.
