Rotary Equips Tambuan ES with Full E-Library

Under the leadership of Immediate Past President Jess Fernandez last Rotary Year 2024-2025, what began as a modest dream to complete the construction of a library has evolved. Originally envisioned as a building filled with books and other learning materials and tools, one room has been transformed into a high-tech learning gateway for the students of Tambuan Elementary School.

The building’s construction was made possible through a partnership with the Tambuan ES Teachers & Alumni Association and the Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830). Essential resources, including books, shelves, and other learning tools, were generously provided by Infant Jesus Academy Kalibo, the Fort Atkinson Interact Club (Wisconsin USA), and the Rotary Club of Makati Books Across The Seas (BATS).

On February 16, 2026, Tambuan Elementary School is officially a fully equipped E-Library Hub, marking a significant milestone in bridging the digital divide for its student.

In a formal turnover, led by Rotary Year 2025-2026 President Nora Helber and Project Lead - Past President Megs Lunn, and through the Rotary Club of Makati (D3830), delivered six additional desktop units to the school. This contribution successfully completes the hub’s inventory, bringing the total to eleven (11) functional workstations ready for student use.

Donations of computer desktop was a global collaborative effort through a powerful alliance of local and international donors. This project highlights the theme "Unite For Good" through the combined generosity of - Rotary Club of Makati (D3830), Rotary Club of Lakemills (D6250) Wisconsin, USA, Rotary Club of Forbes Park (D3830), Rotarians Holland Birkemeyer and Megs Lunn of Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850).

"By bringing technology to our adopted library, we’re ensuring that distance and geography don't limit a child's potential," said PP Megs Lunn. "We aren't just giving them computers, we are building a bridge to the future."

Under the leadership of School Principal Mr. Joven Iledan, the E-Library Hub will integrate digital literacy into the daily curriculum, ensuring students remain competitive and connected in an increasingly tech-driven global landscape.

Pres. Nora said, "We are empowering the next generation. For the students of Tambuan, these computers represent more than just hardware,  they are a "window to the world.""

The E-Library Hub stands as a testament to the belief that every child, regardless of their location, deserves access to the tools of the modern age. With the goal officially achieved, the school and its partners look forward to seeing the academic and creative doors this new technology will open.
