Rotary District 3860 Bloodletting Drive Gains Strong Public Support Through Media Partnership

The spirit of humanitarian service and community solidarity was strongly highlighted during the recent Rotary District 3860 Bloodletting Activity spearheaded by Rotary Club of Cebu South in partnership with the different Rotary Clubs under Area 1.

The large-scale blood donation initiative received significant public attention and support through a special radio interview featuring respected DYHP radio anchor Atty. Ruphil Banoc together with the anchors of Brigada News FM, who helped amplify the advocacy and encourage greater community participation.

During the interview, Rotary leaders emphasized the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives, particularly during medical emergencies, disasters, and critical healthcare situations where blood supply shortages continue to challenge hospitals and healthcare institutions. The program also highlighted Rotary’s continuing commitment to humanitarian service and public health initiatives throughout the district.

Representatives from the participating Area 1 Rotary Clubs shared how collaboration and unity among clubs made the activity more impactful and community-centered. The initiative demonstrated the strength of Rotary fellowship, volunteerism, and inter-club cooperation in addressing real societal needs.

The radio guesting served not only as a promotional platform for the bloodletting activity but also as an avenue to educate listeners on the life-saving value of blood donation and the importance of civic engagement. Through the support of local media partners, the campaign successfully reached a wider audience and inspired more individuals to become volunteer blood donors.

District 3860 Rotarians likewise expressed gratitude to all donors, partner organizations, healthcare workers, volunteers, and media practitioners who contributed to the success of the activity. Special recognition was given to DYHP and Brigada News for their invaluable role in promoting public awareness and strengthening community participation.

The successful bloodletting drive once again reflected Rotary’s enduring commitment to its mission of Service Above Self — transforming compassion into action and creating meaningful impact in the lives of others.

As Rotary District 3860 continues to champion humanitarian initiatives, the event stands as a powerful reminder that through partnership, leadership, and service, communities can unite to save lives and build hope for a healthier future.
