Rotary Clubs Unite for Good: Extending Love and Care to SPC Vigil House

Guided by the vision of District Governor Gina Sanchez that no club must be left behind and inspired by her call for unity in building vibrant clubs, Assistant Governor Liza Santiago gathered her Unite for Good presidents to join hands in a meaningful act of service.

On August 19, 2025, the Rotary Club of Taytay Renaissance, together with the Rotary Clubs of Rizal Urban, Rizal Premier, Tres Escalon Taytay, and Binangonan, held a goodwill project entitled, “Kalinga Para sa Lingkod ng Panginoon”, at the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC) Vigil House—home to elderly nuns who have dedicated their lives in prayer and service to both God and community.

The initiative aimed not only to extend material aid but also to honor the sisters’ lifelong devotion and sacrifices. Rotarians came together to bring comfort, joy, and fellowship through meaningful activities and assistance that truly uplifted spirits.

Support provided included: 1) Essential supplies such as diapers and daily needs, 2) Two customized wheelchairs for greater mobility, 3) Therapeutic machines and wellness sessions to promote healing, 4) Traditional hilot therapy for relaxation and relief, and 5) Nutritious food packs and meals to nourish body and soul.

More than the gifts, the fellowship shared with the sisters became the heart of the event. Their smiles, words of gratitude, and prayers in return were a moving reminder of the impact of kindness and unity in service.

AG Liza Santiago expressed her gratitude for the collaboration, noting that the project was made possible because of District Governor Gina Sanchez’s leadership. “Her commitment that no club be left behind encouraged us to work together and embody the true spirit of Rotary,” she shared.

This project highlighted Rotary’s mission to uplift those who are often overlooked—especially individuals who have given so much of themselves without asking for anything in return. The Rotary Club of Taytay Renaissance and its partner clubs stand firm in their commitment to pursue more meaningful service projects that create lasting change, always guided by the motto: Service Above Self.
