Rotary Club of Teresa and Rotaract Club of East Systems College of Rizal Unite for a Greener Future

In pursuit of Rotary International’s vision to protect our planet and promote sustainable communities, the Rotary Club of Teresa, under the leadership of President Freddie Inguito, successfully conducted a Tree Planting Project on October 4, 2025, at the Boy Scout Campsite in Abuyod, Barangay Dalig, Teresa, Rizal.

This environmental initiative was carried out in collaboration with the club’s sponsored youth organization, the Rotaract Club of East Systems College of Rizal, ably led by President Marjorie Quitoras Sorbito. The event brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, and community volunteers who shared a common goal—to take meaningful action toward environmental conservation and climate resilience.

Amid the morning breeze and the scenic hills of Teresa, participants enthusiastically planted various native and fruit-bearing tree seedlings. Each sapling represented hope, sustainability, and Rotary’s unwavering commitment to “Service Above Self.”

President Freddie Inguito emphasized that tree planting is more than just an environmental gesture—it is a long-term investment in the well-being of future generations. “Every tree we plant today contributes to cleaner air, cooler surroundings, and a healthier ecosystem for our community,” he shared.

This project directly aligns with one of Rotary International’s Seven Areas of Focus — Supporting the Environment, which encourages clubs to undertake projects that protect natural resources and combat environmental degradation. Moreover, by involving the youth through Rotaract participation, the project strengthened the values of Community and Economic Development and Peacebuilding, fostering a spirit of cooperation and shared stewardship between generations.

The success of this endeavor reflects RC Teresa’s continuous dedication to serving humanity, not only through community service but also through environmental advocacy. As the young trees take root and grow, they will stand as living symbols of Rotary’s enduring mission to make lasting change—one tree, one community, and one act of service at a time.
