On December 10, 2025, the Rotary Club of Mabalacat Officers carried out another meaningful day of service through the project “Gift Giving for Cleft Warriors” held at the Dr. Jesus A. Datu Medical Center (JADMC) in Bacolor, Pampanga. As part of Global Grant 2567222, Rotarians spent a heartfelt day with children who have undergone — and will soon undergo — surgery for cleft lip and cleft palate. A total of 100 brave young patients were served with meals and gifts, each gesture aimed at bringing comfort, encouragement, and hope during their healing journey.
The activity formed part of the club’s commitment to community economic development and broader community support initiatives. Beyond the material assistance, the project created a nurturing environment where children and families felt seen, supported, and uplifted. Even in the absence of Dr. Laurence Loh, who was inside the operating room performing life-changing procedures, the team expressed deep gratitude for his dedication, along with the unwavering support of the JADMC staff.
This initiative highlights how targeted service efforts can extend beyond immediate relief to create lasting emotional and social impact. By supporting cleft warriors at a critical point in their medical journey, the project reinforces confidence and positivity among patients and families. The continued collaboration between medical professionals and Rotary volunteers also helps strengthen a sustainable network of care that uplifts vulnerable communities over time.
