Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris Drives ACOM Unity, Amplifying Area 1 Projects

On November 15, 2025, the Rotary Clubs of Cebu Area 1, hosted by Area 1A—comprising the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris, RC South, and RC East—gathered at the 2/F Ramon Hall, Golden Prince Hotel, Cebu City for a dynamic Area Coordination Meeting (ACOM). This vital assembly served as a platform for shared learning, reporting progress, and synchronizing future plans to strengthen community outreach. Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris presents were President Roxene Rosario, Secretary Dorothy Borces, Dir. Hazael Urbiztondo, Dir. Mariz Rafols and Asst. Secretary Jabemarie Maquiling. A total of 29 club members from Area 1 participated in this important gathering.

 

The event started with an energizing warm-up led by Zin Keith Maquiling, sparking a lively atmosphere that mirrored the cooperative spirit of the Rotary family. District Governor Angel “Jong” Fernandez Jr. delivered a special message via Zoom, emphasizing the vital role of membership growth and member engagement in amplifying Rotary’s community impact. He acknowledged the dedication of all members, reaffirming that the vitality of the organization depends on strong, active participation.


A keynote presentation by Dr. Hector dela Cruz of the Philippine Academy of Acupuncture, Inc. introduced the L.A.M.P. Accuwellness Program, a holistic approach to health supporting member wellness as a foundational aspect of sustained service. Complementing this, a spirited Zumba fitness session highlighted wellness as essential to effective leadership and community action.


Representatives from various sub-areas presented comprehensive reports that detailed completed projects, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming activities. These updates showcased exemplary coordination and cooperation among clubs, emphasizing their shared resolve to address community needs through innovative and impactful solutions.

 

For the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris, this meeting epitomizes its mission to foster collaboration and nurture leadership across the district. The club’s deep-rooted commitment to Rotary’s Areas of Focus—Promoting Health and Wellness, Supporting Youth, and Strengthening Communities—is reflected in the themes and discussions throughout the gathering. The Area Coordination Meeting stands as a testament to Gloria Maris’s enduring belief that collective strategy and member well-being are keys to meaningful service.

Looking ahead, the next Area Coordination Meeting took place on December 6, 2025, in Bohol, continuing the momentum for unified service across Area 1.
