Rotary Club of Cainta Brings Hope and Joy to Children of Cribs Foundation

Last Sunday, 21 September 2025, the Rotary Club of Cainta lived up to its mission of “Service Above Self” through a meaningful service project entitled “Kanlungan ng Pangarap” for the children and teenagers of Cribs Foundation at Brgy. San Luis, Sitio San Luis, Antipolo City—young survivors of abandoned, neglected, and surrendered children (ages 0-4) and female survivors of sexual abuse (ages 7-17).

The project highlighted four of Rotary’s key Areas of Focus: Saving Mothers and Children, Promoting Peace, Preventing Disease, Supporting Education, and Empowering Girls which is a significant initiative within Rotary International. These Causes reflect the holistic support that Cribs Foundation provides to its beneficiaries, ensuring not only their safety and healing but also their growth and future opportunities.

The half-day program was filled with joy, energy, and inspiration. The children and teens actively participated in lively games and group dances, listened to one of the Rotary’s guiding principles, while also receiving uplifting and motivating messages from the Rotarians and Rotaractors. Their active engagement, smiles, and laughter were testaments to the healing power of care and community.

The event was made more memorable with the distribution of thoughtful gifts/in kind donations: Milk, hygiene kits, blankets, brand new clothes, infant needs, and a sumptuous lunch shared by the club. The children were also blessed with clothing donations, generously provided by Satellite Impact International.

This project was a shining example of collaboration and compassion, made possible through the teamwork of the Rotary Club of Cainta, the Rotaract Club of Cainta—who enthusiastically facilitated the games—and Satellite Impact International.

President Glenn Rentoria expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve:

…“Our project, Kanlungan ng Pangarap, is a reminder that every act of kindness plants seeds of hope. You deserve a safe space, an education, and above all, love. We are humbled to be part of your journey toward healing and brighter tomorrows.”...

Senior Assistant Governor Tet Requiso promised that:

…”The service project “Kanlungan ng Pangarap” is not a one-time act of kindness, but the beginning of a continuing mission to bring healing, hope, and joy to the children and teenagers of Cribs Foundation. As Rotarians, we recognize that the wounds of abuse and abandonment cannot be mended in a single day; they require constant care, encouragement, and the assurance that the community stands with them in their journey of recovery.”...

This is why the Rotary Club of Cainta, together with other Rotary Clubs from Zone 5 of District 3800, promise to commit to returning to and sustaining our partnership with Cribs Foundation. By coming together, we strengthen our capacity to serve and reinforce the values of peace, education, health, and child protection that align with Rotary’s Areas of Focus.”

Our united presence as Zone 5 Rotarians is more than a gesture of solidarity—it is a promise of continuity. It assures the children that they are not forgotten, that their dreams matter, and that their healing is supported by people who believe in their potential. Through shared resources, collective action, and a compassionate spirit, we aim to build not just moments of joy but a lasting foundation of hope.

With every return, we plant deeper roots of care and leave a stronger impact. Together, as one Rotary family, we affirm that healing is a journey—and we will walk with these children every step of the way. Indeed, Kanlungan ng Pangarap was a celebration of resilience, a commitment to service, and a promise that the Rotary spirit of giving will continue to uplift the most vulnerable in the community.
