Residents of Barangay Puspus, San Fernando City benefits from 5 in 1 service under Project Itagay ti Barangay

Aside from our Project Harmony which benefited the students and teachers of the Puspus Elementary School, our Club reach out to the whole community of Barangay Puspus,

San Fernando City – one of our adopted barangays.

The residents of the barangay needs to cross through the other municipality just to reach the

city proper and avail of basic services and necessities. Because of this the Club decided to

bring important services to their community.

Together with Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center, Philippine Dental Association – La

Union Chapter, LU Guani Optical, Hidalgo Estepa & Associates Law Offices, Rotary Community Corps of Puspus -Kired Iti Daya and the Barangay Government of Puspus we conducted the following services under Project Itagay Ti Barangay:

1. MODeL component project – Stands for Medical, Optical, Dental and Legal. Doctors

which specialize in Internal Medicine, Community and Family Medicine, and

Ophthalmology offered free check-up and consultations to residents. Afterwards, they

received medicines enough to cover the whole duration of their treatment. Dentists from

ITRMC and PDA-LU Chapter conducted a free fluoride application, check-up, and tooth

extraction. Meanwhile the lawyers of Hidalgo Estepa; Associates Law Offices gave free

legal consultation and offered free notarial services. LU Guani Optical conducted a free

optical check-up and gave away free reading glasses. The remaining medicines were

donated to the Barangay Health Center to help the residents who may need additional

medicines in the future.

2. Pick & Pay – We remain committed to support our local farmers, so we see to it that

every time we visit Puspus, we patronize their produce.

3. Solar Lights Installation – for the past two Rotary Years, we have installed 11 solar

streetlights. This Rotary Year, we installed seven more solar streetlights.

4. Maternal Kits – We provided essentials for all the pregnant women of the Barangay.

5. Share-A-Meal – At the end of the program we shared hearty meals with the day care

children, youth, and all volunteers who have had made this project possible.

This and many more services and programs will be implemented soon. We will never stop not

until we “Itagay ti Barangay Puspus” (Lift up Barangay Puspus). Together, we Unite for

Good.
