On April 23, a significant milestone was reached at the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) Namtutan with the groundbreaking ceremony for a community kitchen that will serve as a vital livelihood startup for the local community. This project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) and the RCSFLU Foundation.
The partnership provided essential construction materials, while the labor costs for the kitchen's construction are being funded by the RCC’s own resources. The new community kitchen is designed to provide sustainable income opportunities for local residents, offering a platform for food-related businesses to thrive and contribute to the economic growth of Namtutan.
The project highlights the power of community-driven initiatives and the transformative impact of collaboration.
By supporting this livelihood venture, RCSFLU and the RCSFLU Foundation are not only addressing immediate community needs but also investing in long-term development. This kitchen is expected to become a cornerstone of local enterprise, strengthening the resilience and self-sufficiency of the area.
The groundbreaking marks just the beginning of an exciting journey for RCC Namtutan, which looks forward to expanding its reach and empowering more community members through future initiatives.
RCC Namtutan is the Rotary Community Corps (RCC) in the World. Chartered in the year 1986.
