RC San Fernando La Union Welcomes Governor Ortega at 7th Regular Meeting

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) held its 7th Regular Meeting, made more meaningful by the presence of Provincial Governor Mario Eduardo C. Ortega, who shared an inspiring and forward-looking message with the members on August 26, 2025.

Governor Ortega highlighted the importance of leadership rooted in responsibility and service, reminding Rotarians of their vital role in uplifting communities. He also shared key economic impact projects for the province, including the improvement of La Union’s seaport and airport facilities, which aim to enhance connectivity and strengthen economic growth.

In addition, the governor spoke about the expansion of the tourism industry by positioning La Union as a hub for adventure tourism, attracting visitors through unique experiences that celebrate the province’s natural beauty and vibrant culture. He likewise emphasized the importance of sustainability through the improvement of the Bauang mangrove forest, a vital ecological project that will protect coastal communities while promoting eco-tourism.

His message left members inspired, reinforcing the alignment of Rotary’s mission of Service Above Self with the province’s development goals—both dedicated to creating lasting and meaningful change in the community.
