RC San Fernando La Union Strengthens Community Ties Through Governance and Partnerships

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU) capped the week with a series of engagements that reflected its commitment to collaboration and community building — from strengthening its voice in local governance to nurturing partnerships with local leaders and preparing for a major project turnover.

On September 11, 2025, RCSFLU participated in the San Fernando City CSO Meeting held at the Gregorio “Bunog” Hufano Session Hall. Represented by Dir. Kyle, President Alvin, and DGE Gov. Roni, the club took part in the reconstitution of the Local Special Bodies (LSBs), ensuring that Rotary’s perspective continues to be heard in policymaking and development planning at the city level. Their participation reaffirms the club’s active role as a civil society partner, advocating for initiatives that respond to community needs.

On the same day, a delegation of Rotarians — PP Brian, PP Sherwin, Dir. Marlon, Dir. Angelo, TL Caloy, Rtn. Jude, and Dir. Reinier — paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Bong Lee at the Bauang Municipal Hall. The meeting focused on exploring collaborative projects in Bauang, laying the groundwork for future service initiatives that will benefit residents of the municipality. The visit demonstrated the club’s commitment to maintaining strong ties with local government partners, a key to successful and sustainable community projects.

The momentum continued on September 12, 2025, when President Alvin met with RCC Namtutan officers for a coordination meeting to finalize preparations for the turnover of the community kitchen project. This initiative reflects RCSFLU’s dedication to empowering local communities by providing them with tools that enhance their ability to serve and sustain themselves.

These engagements, though varied in focus, were united in purpose — ensuring that RCSFLU remains an active and visible force in governance, collaboration, and project implementation.

Together, they underscore the club’s guiding call to Unite for Good, proving that meaningful change happens when Rotarians work hand in hand with partners, local leaders, and grassroots communities.
