RC San Fernando La Union brings Clean Water to Lipay Elementary School

The Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), in partnership with RC San Fernando City North and RC San Juan, successfully conducted the "Fountain of Hope – Water Pump Donation" event on March 20, 2025, at Lipay Elementary School, San Gabriel, La Union.

Lipay Integrated School, located in a mountainous area, has long struggled with access to clean water, relying solely on a deep well. To address this issue, Rotary donated a new water pump and its components to provide a more reliable and sustainable water source for the school’s 180 elementary students, 220 high school students, and 22 staff members. Along with the water pump, the organization also donated one roll of potable water hose to facilitate better water distribution within the school and 200 toothbrushes to promote oral hygiene among students.

This initiative is in line with Rotray's Clean Water and Sanitation Month, which emphasizes the importance of safe drinking water, proper hygiene, and sanitation. With the installation of the water pump, students and staff now have easier access to clean water, reducing health risks and improving the overall learning environment.

RCSFLU expressed gratitude to all volunteers and partners who contributed to the project, reaffirming their commitment to Service Above Self and their mission to support communities in need.
