From April 25 to 27, Rotarians from around the world, including members from the Rotary Club of San Fernando La Union (RCSFLU), gathered at the Royce Hotel in Clark, Pampanga for the much-anticipated Rotary District Conference.
The event saw the attendance of Rotary International President’s Representative (RIPR) Past District Governor (PDG) Tae Sik-Yoo and PDG Richard Dick Hall of Rotary District 7880, representing the Rotary Club of Portland.
One of the key highlights of the conference was the presentation of the district’s financial report by PDG Francis Cornejo. However, approval of the report was deferred after extensive feedback from several past district governors (PDGs), prompting further discussions.
A motion to abolish the District Nominating Committee in favor of electronic voting was also presented, but it was deferred pending the formation of a District Election Committee to facilitate the process. The committee will gather votes from all clubs to ensure a fair and representative decision on the motion.
The conference not only provided a platform for vital discussions but also fostered greater fellowship among Rotarians, reinforcing their collective dedication to Rotary’s service-oriented values.
