RC New Manila East Launches 40th Anniversary Coffee Table Book

Updated: Jul 19

In a night filled with pride, nostalgia, and new beginnings, the Rotary Club of New Manila East (RCNME) delivered a surprise worthy of its 40th Ruby Year. During the club’s Turnover and Recognition Night, held at the historic Club Filipino, where Filipino leaders have taken oaths, made history, and now, where Rotarians celebrate legacy, outgoing President Karlo Benjamin Nisce unveiled a personal parting token of appreciation to his fellow members: the official RCNME 40th Anniversary Coffee Table Book.

The book, 40 Years of the Rotary Club of New Manila East: 1984-2024, chronicles the club’s storied rise from its founding by a group of determined friends and fraternity brothers in 1984, to its evolution into a powerhouse of service, leadership, and fellowship. It pays tribute to the charter members, past presidents, and every Rotarian who turned ideals into action, from projects like the Country’s Outstanding Police Officers in Service (COPS) to modern milestones like the celebrated 40 Acts of Rotary Magic.

“Bound not just by memory, but by mission,” the book’s pages echo the enduring values that fueled RCNME’s unprecedented achievements during its Ruby Year, including 34 Excellence Awards and the Platinum Distinction for Outstanding Club and President.

The surprise launch at Club Filipino, a venue symbolic of Filipino resilience and milestones, could not have been more fitting. “In these halls, presidents have been sworn in, movements sparked, and tonight, we add our chapter, a legacy of service, loud and proud,” President Nisce quipped. The book’s unveiling, met with applause and quiet reflection, reminded members that their story is far from finished. “This is not a souvenir, it’s a challenge. To live up to what those before us built, and to ensure that 40 years from now, the next generation will turn these pages with pride,” continued President Nisce.

With the torch officially passed to incoming President Majumi Borlaza, RCNME’s 40th Anniversary Coffee Table Book stands as both a tribute and a roadmap, documenting the Magis of Rotary, the power of service, and the legacy still being written.

Indeed, as RCNME closes its first 40 years, its story, now immortalized in print, is far from over.
