RC Metro Kalibo Marks Rotary New Year with Renewed Partnership for Maternal and Child Health in Aklan

On July 1, 2026, Kicking off the Rotary New Year with a strengthened commitment to community welfare, the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) officially signed a Renewal of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with its long-term strategic partner, Mommies Breastfeeding of Aklan. The signing ceremony, which took place at CityMall Kalibo, marks the continuation of a three-year alliance dedicated to improving maternal and child health outcomes across the province.
The MOU was formally executed by Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo President Leo Franklin Magno and Mommies Breastfeeding of Aklan founder Ms. Richelle Ann Guarino. The milestone event was witnessed by Club Directors Past President (PP) Ricky Molo, PP Megs Lunn, and Rotarian (Rtn.) Angel Canoy.
Over the past three years, this robust partnership has delivered critical community interventions, including mental health symposiums, educational seminars, support for the "End Polio Patak" immunization campaigns, and the distribution of essential maternal and child care kits.
"This renewal is more than just a formal agreement, it is a beautiful kickoff to a year focused on sustainable, grassroots development," said President Magno. "By pooling our resources and expertise with Mommies Breastfeeding of Aklan, we are ensuring that mothers and children in our community receive the vital support they need to thrive."
Prior to the formal signing, representatives from both organizations held a quick planning session to map out joint initiatives and community celebrations for the current month's theme as well as upcoming health campaigns.
Moving forward into another year of collaborative service, both organizations remain united under the shared vision to "Create Lasting Impact."
Mommies Breastfeeding of Aklan is a community-based advocacy group in Aklan, Philippines, dedicated to supporting, educating, and protecting the rights of breastfeeding mothers, while promoting comprehensive maternal and infant health.
