RC Metro Kalibo Honors Women and Heroes in Blood Donation Drive

On March 11, 2025, the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850) jointly co-sponsored a Mobile Blood Donation initiative dubbed as  “Pulis Ko, Kadugo Ko” (Para sa Kababayenhan), celebrating Women's Month 2025 by honoring the women who graciously donated their blood, too.

We partnered with our peacebuilding allies, including the Aklan Police Provincial Office, Aklan Baghay, Aklan Advisory Group, Philippine Red Cross Aklan, and media partners such as Kalibo Cable TV Community Network, Love Radio, Aklan Cable TV, and GMA Kalibo Barangay RU 92.9 FM. We applaud the 54 generous donors who took part in this essential initiative. A special thanks goes to the St. Gabriel College MedTech students and the LGU Rural Health team for their support in blood typing, blood extraction, and online database registration.

This year, a few of our members personally donated blood and are part of our regular donors, too. For the RY 2024-2025, we have successfully gathered approximately 400 bags of blood and organized around 15 blood drives, all under the guidance of President Jess Fernandez.

The Philippine Red Cross Aklan Chapter has been our vital humanitarian partner in WASH, Disease Prevention, and Health promotion for over six years.

Our collaboration in the voluntary blood donation program underscores our commitment to saving lives. We thank our modern heroes and partners for working together to create a better world through voluntary blood donation.

This is a testament of our a successful strategic partnership for many years now. Let us continue to build peace, one project at a time. Let us initiate community engagement in a positive way and avoid conflict by being inclusive. Our partnership with the men and women in uniform in our area has always been welcomed as a strong bond, including the participation of our other stakeholders and the media.
