The Rotary Club of Makati Dasmariñas (RCMD) is elated to announce the outstanding achievements of Team Hanan at the National VEX V5 Robotics Competition, held on December 13-14, 2024, at SEAMO INNOTECH. Under the leadership of their Team Captain and Interact Club Vice President, Mary Love Cruto, Team Hanan secured an impressive 3rd Place finish, showcasing their exceptional skills, innovation, and teamwork.
Competing against 15 of the nation’s top robotics teams, Team Hanan’s success is a testament to their dedication to robotics and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education, which RCMD proudly supports. Adding to the excitement, the National Champion also hails from Makati Science High School and will represent the Philippines at the International VEX Robotics Competition, highlighting the school’s excellence in nurturing young innovators.
Led by Mary Love Cruto, Team Hanan’s journey to the national stage was marked by hard work, passion, and unwavering dedication. The team members include Mary Love Cruto as Team Captain, Angelo Ermino Jr. as Builder/Programmer, Alonso John Abanto and Reign Aljean Somera as Builder/Driver, and Cielo Yvonne Sawit as Notetaker.
Their creativity and problem-solving abilities left a lasting impression on the judges and their peers, demonstrating exceptional performance throughout the competition.
This achievement would not have been possible without the generous support of Dr. Becky, RCMD’s Charter President and a renowned robotic surgeon. Her sponsorship of ₱20,000 for the team’s registration fee ensured that financial barriers did not hinder Team Hanan’s dreams.
Dr. Becky’s words of encouragement, “I’m so excited to see this group move forward with their robotics project!” inspired the team to give their best effort.
Team Hanan’s success underscores RCMD’s mission to promote quality education and empower young people to aim higher and dream bigger. Through STEM initiatives like this, RCMD invests in the potential of young minds, helping shape the next generation of engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Team Hanan for their well-deserved 3rd Place finish and to Makati Science High School’s National Champions, who will represent the Philippines at the international level. Their achievements remind us of the power of education, teamwork, and community support.
Let’s continue to cheer for these young innovators as they reach for even greater heights. RCMD is proud to be part of their journey!
