RC Cebu Port Centre’s Second Tranche of Hope for Barangay Lusaran, December 8, 2025

Yesterday, high in the mountains of Barangay Lusaran, Cebu City, the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre once again lived out Service Above Self as we turned over the second tranche of construction materials to 80 families affected by Typhoon Tino.

This phase of our relief and rebuilding effort included coco lumber for home frames, plywood for walling, and pail flush toilets—essential materials that will help families rebuild their homes with dignity, safety, and renewed hope.

This is RC CPC’s special Christmas gift to the resilient families of Lusaran— a gift of hope, rebuilding, and new beginnings.

This mission is made possible through the generous partnership of Oroquieta Charity Foundation Inc., the Venetia Family from Vancouver Canada, the Rotary Club of Forbes Park, and the Philippine American Oroquietanian Charity Organization (PAOCO). Together, we are truly People of Action, choosing compassion over comfort and unity over indifference.

RC CPC was led by President Walter Ong, joined by Treasurer Jerome Villordon, Directors Clark Byron Gothong, Robert Barquilla, Marlon Pajulas, and Rotarian Atty. Timothy Yu—all working hand in hand to carry, deliver, and distribute the needed materials. Welcoming our team on behalf of Barangay Lusaran were Barangay Treasurer Charlie Bacayo and Barangay Councilor Charlie Partulan, whose warm support made the effort meaningful and heartfelt.

In moments like these, we are reminded of Rotary’s enduring call to Unite for Good. When communities, donors, and volunteers come together, we do more than deliver materials—we restore hope, strengthen resilience, and help families rise again.

Together, we rebuild homes. Together, we uplift lives. Together, we embody Rotary’s call to Unite for Good.
