On June 6, 2025, the Grand Ballroom of City Sports Club Cebu Inc. became the stage for a proud celebration of legacy and leadership as the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre marked its 40th Charter Anniversary and 41st Induction and Hand-Over Ceremonies, which started at 6:30 PM. A gathering of distinguished Rotarians, community partners, and invited guests reflected the spirit of service that has propelled the club’s impactful journey over the past four decades.
Representing the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris at this momentous occasion were Past District Governor Lilu Aliño, Assistant Governor Christine Tan Ashby, President-Elect Roxene Rosario, and Secretary-Elect and Director of Public Image Dorothy Borces. Their presence signified inter-club solidarity and mutual respect—core values that continue to enrich the fabric of Rotary’s mission across clubs and districts.
The evening commemorated not just a milestone in numbers, but a legacy of relevance—a story written through decades of service above self, renewed in the hands of incoming leaders.
The ceremony opened with elegance and formality, welcoming a roster of dignitaries, long-time members, and visiting Rotarians. With each address and acknowledgment, the evening highlighted the club’s unwavering dedication to community development and Rotary’s ideals.
Central to the program was the formal hand-over of leadership, a moment underscored by gratitude and anticipation. Outgoing leaders were recognized for their service, while incoming officers and directors were charged with the stewardship of continuing that mission with integrity and innovation. The symbolic passing of the gavel reminded all in attendance that leadership in Rotary is not about position—but responsibility, trust, and continuity.
Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris’ representation—spanning past district leadership to incoming club officers—echoed a message of aligned vision and enduring fellowship. It demonstrated that while each club carries its own legacy, the shared goal of transforming communities unites all under the Rotary banner.
Throughout the night, stories of successful projects, partnerships, and progress were shared—proof of how sustained effort and cohesive leadership can drive positive change. Cultural interludes and heartfelt messages from outgoing officers added a layer of warmth and reflection to the evening.
The camaraderie between clubs was evident in the laughter exchanged, the conversations that flowed freely, and the mutual admiration expressed across generations of leaders. For both seasoned Rotarians and newer inductees, the event was an inspiring reminder of the ever-evolving nature of service—rooted in legacy, yet constantly reaching forward.
As the new officers of the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre formally took their oaths, a sense of purposeful renewal filled the room. The evening concluded with hopeful messages, words of congratulations, and continued commitment to collaboration among clubs, particularly those whose histories and hearts remain intertwined by shared projects, friendships, and values.
The Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre on its 40th Charter Anniversary and the successful induction of its new officers. The club looks forward to deeper collaboration in the coming Rotary year and beyond, anchored by the belief that together, Rotarians do more, reach farther, and uplift lives.
Indeed, the occasion served not only to celebrate the past but to energize the future—a powerful reminder that when Rotary clubs stand together, they multiply impact and inspire generations to lead with service in mind.
