RC Cebu Gloria Maris Hosts Second Area 1 Coordination Meeting to Strengthen Collaboration and Sustain Momentum

On January 25, 2025, the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris proudly hosted the second Area 1 Coordination Meeting (ACOM) at the Jade Hall, Golden Prince Hotel. This event brought together presidents and secretaries from various Rotary clubs within Area 1, fostering a spirit of unity, collaboration, and renewed commitment to service. The gathering proved to be a pivotal moment for the clubs to evaluate their progress, share insights, and plan for impactful initiatives in the months ahead.

The meeting opened with a warm welcome from President Myra Urbiztondo and Past President Bessie Villamor, who greeted the attendees with genuine enthusiasm. Their hospitality set a positive tone for the day, encouraging open dialogue and camaraderie among the leaders. The presence of District 3860 Governor Caroline “Caycay” Lee Andrade added a layer of inspiration and guidance. Governor Andrade presided over the session with a clear focus on progress and accountability, presenting the midyear evaluation for each club. This provided a valuable opportunity for clubs to reflect on their achievements and challenges, and to strategize on how to maximize their impact moving forward.

The meeting was a powerful platform for sharing updates and best practices, reinforcing the collective strength of the Area 1 Rotary community. Each club’s presentation highlighted their unique contributions to their communities, from service projects to membership growth. This exchange of ideas energized the participants and underscored the importance of collaboration in achieving Rotary’s mission.

Behind the scenes, the event’s success was supported by a dedicated team ensuring every detail was managed flawlessly. Registration was expertly handled by Past Presidents Christine Lee and Marrietta Briones Socorro, who ensured that the check-in process was efficient and welcoming. Meanwhile, Director of Membership Fraulien Atis and Director of Public Image Dorothy Borces took charge of the visual and audio arrangements, guaranteeing that the presentations were clear and engaging. Their technical expertise enhanced the overall experience, allowing the focus to remain on the meaningful discussions taking place.

A special commendation was given to Assistant Governor Elect Christine Tan Ashby, who served as the Program Director. She skillfully led the workshop segment of the meeting, ensuring that the agenda flowed smoothly and that all participants were actively engaged. Her leadership was instrumental in maintaining the meeting’s momentum and making certain that the objectives were met.

This second ACOM hosted by the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris was more than just a meeting; it was a celebration of shared purpose and a commitment to collective progress. The event strengthened connections across clubs, fostered a deeper understanding of each club’s initiatives, and inspired renewed dedication to service. Participants left the meeting motivated and equipped with new ideas and strategies to implement in their respective communities.

The success of this gathering reflects the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris’s ongoing dedication to leadership and community engagement. By hosting consecutive ACOMs, the club demonstrates its role as a unifying force within Area 1, encouraging collaboration that transcends individual clubs.
