On August 23, 2025, the Rotary Club of Cebu Gloria Maris (RCCGM) proudly represented District 3860 at the Zone 10A Regional Public Image Awards held at the prestigious Maynila Ballroom, The Manila Hotel. The event gathered Rotary clubs from across the zone to celebrate creativity, storytelling, and the powerful role of public image in advancing Rotary’s mission.
The program opened with heartfelt Welcome Remarks from Past District Governor Lilu, who emphasized the importance of recognizing the many ways clubs bring Rotary’s vision closer to the public. His words framed the celebration not only as an awards ceremony but also as a reaffirmation of Rotary’s identity as “People of Action.”
A Celebration of Storytelling and Impact
For RCCGM, the day was more than an acknowledgment of efforts—it was a moment of pride and reflection. The club was recognized as a finalist in two major categories: Best People of Action Photo and Best Rotary Story. These nominations underscored RCCGM’s dedication to showcasing service through powerful imagery and authentic narratives.
The Best People of Action Photo category highlighted the club’s ability to capture moments of compassion, fellowship, and service in action. Each image told a story beyond words, showing the heart of Rotary at work in communities. Meanwhile, the Best Rotary Story nomination honored RCCGM’s efforts to craft compelling accounts of its projects, giving voice to beneficiaries and inspiring others to serve.
Carrying the Banner of Recognition
Representing the club at the event was Club Secretary Dothy, who proudly carried the RCCGM banner throughout the ceremonies. Her presence symbolized not just the club’s nomination but also its continuing commitment to raising Rotary’s visibility in Cebu and beyond.
As Secretary Dothy reflected on the recognition, she emphasized that the real winners are not only the clubs but also the communities whose stories are told. “Every captured moment, every story written, is an invitation for others to see how Rotary transforms lives,” she said.
A Reminder of Rotary’s Mission
The Zone 10A Public Image Awards offered more than recognition. It was also a reminder that effective communication strengthens Rotary’s reach. By telling stories that resonate, clubs like RCCGM help Rotary connect with people who may later become volunteers, partners, or even future Rotarians.
The recognition as finalists affirmed that RCCGM’s public image efforts are making an impact—not only within the district but across the region. It also inspired the club to continue innovating in the way it tells stories, using photography, print, and digital media to reflect the enduring mission of Service Above Self.
Moving Forward with Purpose
Being named as a finalist in two categories during such a prestigious gathering was a milestone for RCCGM. More importantly, it fueled the club’s passion to keep creating stories and images that honor the people they serve and the spirit of Rotary.
As RCCGM continues its journey this Rotary Year, it remains committed to strengthening both its service projects and its storytelling. The club believes that when communities see and feel the impact of Rotary, they are more likely to join the cause, amplify its mission, and become partners in lasting change.
The Zone 10A Regional Public Image Awards was not just an evening of recognition—it was a celebration of how stories unite, inspire, and bring Rotary’s service closer to the hearts of many.
