A Grand Assembly of Rotary Leaders

The first day of DISCON 2025 began with the Assembly of Presidents, District Officers, and the Council of Governors. This important session set the tone for the conference, as key elections were conducted peacefully and efficiently, reflecting the democratic spirit of Rotary. The electorate voted on various district concerns, ensuring that the leadership and direction for the coming year were firmly established.

The day culminated in the much-anticipated Fellowship Night, known as Kasadya sa Distrito, held at the Leyte Convention Complex.

This festive evening was a dazzling showcase of culture and camaraderie, where the various Areas of District 3860 competed in a spirited celebration of their unique identities.

The grand winner was the contingent from Davao, whose magnificent attire, meticulous preparations, and captivating dance performance stole the show and captured the hearts of all attendees.

Honoring Excellence and Leadership

Throughout the conference, Rotary’s commitment to excellence was evident. Awards were presented to recognize outstanding clubs and leaders who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to Rotary’s mission. All 101 clubs of District 3860 were honored with the prestigious Club Excellence Award and Leadership Recognition Awards, underscoring the collective achievements of the district.

The presence of Rotary International Past District Governor Dennis Shore from Australia, accompanied by his wife, added an international flair to the event. His participation highlighted the global fellowship that Rotary fosters, bridging continents and cultures in the spirit of service.

Inspiring Plenary Talks and TRF Milestones

Day two of the conference featured inspiring plenary talks that engaged attendees with fresh ideas and renewed motivation. District Governor Caroline Lee Andrade delivered a compelling report on the district’s fundraising achievements for The Rotary Foundation (TRF).

As of May 31, 2025, District 3860 had generated an impressive US$811,565.76 for TRF, with optimism high that the total would continue to grow before the Rotary year ends.

This remarkable milestone reflects the generosity and commitment of Rotarians across the district to support global humanitarian efforts.

A Night of Tradition and Celebration: Governor’s Night and Santacruzan

The closing night of DISCON 2025 was a highlight of tradition and festivity. The Governor’s Night featured the enchanting Santacruzan procession, a beloved Filipino cultural event symbolizing faith and community. Assistant Governors proudly marched down as Reyna Elenas, with District Governor Caycay Andrade crowned as the Queen of all Reyna Elenas. The presence of Governor Andrade’s family added warmth and personal significance to the evening.

In a touching moment of unity and pride, the entire assembly of Rotary participants joined together in singing the Governor’s favorite anthem, “Sweet Caroline,” creating an atmosphere of joy and fellowship that perfectly capped the conference. This heartfelt celebration of unity and service truly captured the spirit of Rotary and left a lasting impression on all who attended.
