A new Hand Wash and Filtered Drinking Station was officially turned over to Macamot Elementary School by the Rotary Club of Binangonan, led by dedicated Good President Manolito Cartin. The ceremony was graced by Assistant Governor Liza Santiago, club members, and school officials, marking another milestone under Rotary International’s Area of Focus on Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH).
The project, which cost ₱100,000 for labor and materials, was made possible through the combined efforts of the Rotary Club of Binangonan members and support from district funds. Their shared commitment made this vital facility a reality, providing students and teachers with access to safe, clean drinking water and a proper handwashing station, essential for maintaining good health and preventing disease.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed between the club and the school, represented by the principal, ensuring the sustainability and proper upkeep of the facility. During his message, President Cartin expressed deep appreciation to all Rotarians and partners who contributed to the project, emphasizing that Rotary’s purpose is to serve communities and make a lasting impact. Assistant Governor Santiago commended the club’s initiative, noting that such efforts nurture not only better hygiene practices but also a stronger sense of environmental responsibility among the youth.
This meaningful project stands as a testament to Rotary’s enduring mission — creating lasting change in communities, one school, and one drop of clean water at a time.
