On July 24, 2025, the Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands kicked off its Rotary Year with a heartwarming and purposeful 1st General Membership Meeting held at New Hotel Supreme. Led by Club President Ponciano Valdez Jr., the evening was filled with meaningful Rotary traditions, warm fellowship, and shared commitments to "Service Above Self." The meeting opened with dinner and entertainment, setting the tone for an engaging and memorable night.
A major highlight of the evening was the mental health talk delivered by Dr. Mary Libeney Sito, called #NayDaRnA, the Mental Health Coordinator. Dr. Sito gave an eye-opening and compassionate discussion on the growing need for mental health awareness in both personal and professional spaces. She emphasized the importance of recognizing early signs of stress, anxiety, and burnout—especially among community leaders and volunteers who often prioritize others before themselves.
Her talk encouraged Rotarians to be not only advocates but also safe spaces for those silently struggling. Her insights were both timely and empowering, leaving a strong impact on all attendees and reinforcing the club’s mission to care for the whole person—mind, body, and spirit.
