RC Aseana Manila and Baby Club RC Aseana Bayanihan Drive Environmental Impact Through Bamboo Nursery Program

On January 10, 2026, the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila, in partnership with its baby club, the Rotary Club of Aseana Bayanihan, proudly supported the Community-Based Bamboo Nursery and Reforestation Program at the Pamitinan Protected Landscape in Sitio Karugo, Wawa Dam, Montalban, Rizal, through the donation of bamboo saplings.

Led in collaboration with PBDIC Executive Director Butch Madarang, the initiative underscores Rotary’s strong commitment to environmental protection, ecological restoration, and sustainable community-driven action.

The project is expected to nurture thousands of bamboo saplings, contributing to the rehabilitation of several hectares of protected landscape while benefiting local communities through future livelihood opportunities tied to bamboo propagation and sustainable harvesting.

Beyond reforestation, the program supports erosion control, improved water retention, carbon sequestration, and biodiversity conservation—key components in building climate resilience.

Each bamboo sapling donated and planted represents a long-term investment in environmental sustainability, community empowerment, and a healthier ecosystem for generations to come.
