A promise carries its greatest meaning when it is matched by action.
This morning, the Rotary Club of Cebu Port Centre (RCCPC), in partnership with Worldwide Steel and NutsRV Philippines, proudly fulfilled a commitment to the children and families of Barangay Paknaan by officially turning over the newly restored Paknaan Day Care Center, bringing hope back to a community after the devastating 6.9 magnitude earthquake that struck Cebu last year.
What was once damaged has now become a safe, vibrant, and inspiring place where young minds can learn, dream, and grow. More than a building, this is a symbol of resilience, compassion, and the incredible impact of people united by a common purpose.
Adding even more joy to the celebration, RCCPC distributed School Welcome Kits to our eager and excited daycare students, filling the morning with bright smiles and hopeful hearts as they prepare for another school year.
We were deeply honored by the presence of Mr. Francisco “Along” Ong, Founder of Worldwide Steel; Mr. Yuuki Kita, Director of NutsRV Philippines; Congresswoman Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano Dizon; Board Member Nilo “Olin” Seno; together with our City and Barangay officials, whose unwavering support made this meaningful milestone possible.
Representing RCCPC were President Francis Walter Ong, DGND & DRFC Chair Jensen Racho, District Finance Chair PAG Antonio Tan, Jr., Directors Clark Byron Gothong, Robert Barquilla, Marlon Pajulas and Auditor Edwin Jardin, together with our wonderful RCCPC spouses led by Sharon Ong, whose presence reflected the spirit of service that defines our Rotary family.
This project reminds us that when organizations, leaders, partners, and communities come together, we do more than rebuild structures, we restore hope, strengthen futures, and transform lives.
Promise made. Promise fulfilled. Together, we Unite for Good.
