The Tree Planting Activity of the Rotary Club of Metro North Caloocan (RC MNC) was held at the Amparo Nature Park in Caloocan City on March 21, 2026. Specifically, lemon trees were planted behind century-old trees with fellow members of the club headed by GP Vickie S. Estella for an environmentally-friendly future.
The tree planting project is a yearly activity of the club to ensure a greener environment for North Caloocan, and was just one of the campaigns launched by the group to encourage residents to plant trees for a healthier environment.
Because of progress and massive expansions of residential areas and industrial development, a great number of trees and forest areas had shrunk significantly. As a result, floods on a scale and magnitude never experienced before by the people of Caloocan have occured to an alarming rate. RC MNC hopes that with this regular activity, future disasters like floods, landslides, and soil erosion will be mitigated if not totally eradicated.
This project was also undertaken to enhance public awareness on the importance of maintaining the environment by planting trees in vacant or barren areas of the community.
