Leaders from the Philippine government, academia, private sector, and civic organizations have joined forces through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to advance urban greening, carbon recovery, and sustainability initiatives nationwide.
Spearheaded by Climate Change Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz, the partnership supports the National Adaptation Plan 2023–2050 and the country’s Net Zero 2050 vision.
Among those present at the signing held at Rizal Technological University (RTU) was UCP Sheryll Ann Mesina, President of the Rotary Club of Aseana Manila and Chairman of EcoSaver Mutual Fund, who reaffirmed Rotary’s commitment to promoting sustainability and community-driven environmental programs.
Also in attendance were fellow Rotarians from District 3810, including UCP Raoul Creencia, UCP Karen Sumandal, UCP Christina Allada, and UCP Rynah Ventura, expressing support for advancing climate action through Rotary-led and civic partnerships.
The collaboration brings together eleven partner institutions, including the Million Trees Foundation, Bulacan State University, EcoSaver Mutual Fund, Saakuru Labs, and others, working collectively to foster urban greening, carbon recovery, and environmental innovation — paving the way toward a greener and more climate-resilient Philippines.
