The Rotary Club of San Fernando, La Union (RCSFLU ) took the lead in the three-day medical mission entitled “Panagkaykaysa Para Iti Salun-at.” Anchored on Rotary’s Area of Focus on Disease Prevention and Treatment, the initiative delivered comprehensive healthcare services to communities in need, reaffirming Rotary’s enduring commitment to improving lives through accessible and quality medical care.
A major highlight of the mission was the presence of the Hospital on Wheels led by Dr. Jim Sanchez, whose expertise and dedication significantly expanded the scope of services provided. The mission was made possible through strong collaboration with partners in service, including Friends Who Care (USA), Rotary Club of San Fernando, La Union, the Provincial Government of La Union, the City Government of San Fernando, La Union, LGU-Bauang, and LGU-San Juan. This multi-sectoral partnership exemplified how collective action amplifies impact and ensures that services reach the most vulnerable.
Throughout the three days, beneficiaries received a wide range of medical services. These included medical consultations for both adults and pediatric patients, dental extractions, and free eye check-ups with the distribution of eyeglasses through ophthalmology services.
Beyond primary care, the mission also provided surgical interventions such as skin tumor removal, cleft lip repair, inguinal hernia repair, circumcision, and other minor surgical procedures. For many patients, these life-changing services restored not only physical health but also confidence and dignity.
Joining the Medical Mission are District 3790 Incoming Governor Ronald Dy and the La Union Provincial Governor Mario Ortega showcasing unity beyond creating lasting impact to the community.
