Postpartum care is a vital component of maternal health, encompassing the physical recovery and psychological well-being of new mothers. Comprehensive care through understanding the stigma and educating families on how to identify signs and to deal (with kindness) with postpartum depression and anxiety.
A big salute to our more or less 25 identified participants including their loved ones who assisted them during the Nurturer the Nurturers Year 2 (Postpartum Care Awareness), held on December 21, 2025 at the Function Hall of the Cathedral of St. John The Baptist, Kalibo, Aklan. Navigating these crucial issue is always easier with a helping hand.
Thank you to speakers - Rtn. Aya Tropa (RPM), and Rev. Fr. Vincent Cajilig, and to Rev. Fr. Jay Velarde, too, for leading the prayer and hosting the venue as part of "Be The Juan" program of his parish.
The Nurture the Nurturers Year 2 event led by Pres. Nora Helber, is a collaborative initiatives by the Rotary Club of Metro Kalibo (D3850), Breastfeeding Mommies of Aklan, and Neuro-Pro Psychological Services, focus on making these essential services accessible.
Engagements with strategic partners like the Cathedral Parish of St. John the Baptist- Diocese of Kalibo, Jasper's Tapsilog & Resto Boracay, and media partners - Kalibo Cable TV Community Channel and Love Radio Kalibo, help create a communal environment where mothers feel empowered and supported.
For the past three years, our collaboration with Mommies Breastfeeding of Aklan has been an ongoing strategy, emphasizing the care for both mothers and children, which is one of the key focus of Rotary International. We are grateful for this opportunity to assist and continuously evaluate their needs, responding effectively. This reflects the strong teamwork demonstrated by both parties, including supports from sister clubs (local and abroad) and friends of Rotary.
The demand is limitless, ranging from advocating for breastfeeding and vaccinations to preventing diseases and providing mental health support. If you wish to join our cause, please email at rcmetrokalibo@gmail.com
