New Gen Congress 2026 Empowers Youth Through Dynamic Workshops and Teambuilding

The highly anticipated New Gen Congress 2026, officially concluded on Aug. 21, 2026, at the Infant Jesus Academy Kalibo Campus Covered Court, Kalibo, Aklan.
The one-day youth congress brought together by Rotary Metro Kalibo (RCMK) led by Pres. Leo Franklin Magno, the Infant Jesus Academy (IJA) led by Principal Janet B. Guzman, and the Aklan Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) led by Ms. Anne Janica Dela Pena, emerging young leaders of Rotaractors and Interactors, were on a full schedule of thought-provoking discussions, practical problem-solving workshops, and high-energy teambuilding activities.
The day opened with an invocation led by Public Image Director PP Ricky I. Molo, setting an earnest and reflective tone for the congress; Director PP Megs Lunn as Convenor, welcomed the delegates with warm opening remarks, emphasizing the pivotal role of youth in community development and transformative leadership.
To break the ice, Rotarian Janica Anne L. Dela Peña, led an engaging "Getting to Know You" (GTKY) session that quickly ignited enthusiasm across the venue.
Participants then gained key leadership insights from featured speaker Atty. Ronifelle L. Barrios, who addressed contemporary youth issues and civic participation.
A major highlight of the morning program was the Tabletop Workshop, facilitated by PP Megs S. Lunn. Divided into five collaborative teams, Rotaractors and Interactors tackled interactive scenario-based challenges designed to test strategic thinking, rapid problem-solving, and teamwork. The dynamic workshop culminated in lively Group Report Presentations, where team representatives presented creative solutions and actionable concepts to the audience.
The afternoon kicked off with an inspiring address by Rtn. Phillip Y. Kimpo, Director of International Service, also LGU Kalibo Vice-Mayor, who encouraged delegates to cultivate leadership resilience.
Following the talk, energy levels soared during the Team Building Activities facilitated by the PYDO volunteers, Renz Cidrick Retiro and Delmer Dela Cruz. Designed to build trust, initiative, communication, and camaraderie, the interactive tactical games had participants cheering, strategizing, and collaborating in a vibrant atmosphere.
Pres. Leo Magno thanked the Rotary Club of Boracay, Rotaract Club of Boracay, Numancia Integrated School Interact Club, RCMK Rotaract Club, and the Infant Jesus Academy Kalibo Interact Club.
The congress wrapped up with an Awarding Ceremony recognizing top-performing teams, giving of Certificates of Participation, followed by a Closing Remark from Youth Service Director Rotarian Ace Phil Feliciano, finally by a unity group photo with all participants and Rotarians.
