The Rotary Club of Downtown Davao (RCDD) celebrated the successful turnover of the WASH Project, “Maghugas ng Kamay, Germs Goodbye.” This initiative included the installation of a pressurized water tank and the renovation of the three-door comfort rooms at Tanglad Elementary School. Made possible through a valuable partnership with the Rotary Club of Chilliwack Fraser, this project underscores our shared commitment to health and sanitation.
Designed to benefit over 400 students and 18 teachers, the project aims to enhance hygiene practices by ensuring better access to clean water and upgraded restroom facilities. By fostering a healthier learning environment, we are equipping students and staff with the essential resources needed to maintain proper hygiene and well-being.
Access to clean water and sanitation is not just a necessity—it is a fundamental right. These improvements play a crucial role in preventing disease and promoting overall wellness, especially among young learners. With the installation of the pressurized water tank and the newly renovated toilets, we are making significant strides toward a safer and healthier school community.
Beyond infrastructure improvements, the project also included a hygiene awareness campaign aimed at educating students on proper handwashing techniques and the importance of maintaining cleanliness. By instilling these habits early on, we are empowering the youth with knowledge that will benefit them for a lifetime, helping to reduce the spread of illnesses and ensuring a healthier future for the entire school community.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Rotary Club of Chilliwack Fraser and Dragon Speed Trucking Corporation for their unwavering support and generosity. Your commitment to this initiative has made a profound impact, demonstrating the power of collaboration in creating meaningful change. This partnership is a testament to how working together, beyond borders, can uplift communities and transform lives. Thank you for being instrumental in this remarkable endeavor.
