Aligned with Rotary’s Area of Focus on Disease Prevention and Treatment, the Rotary Club of Marikina Valley extended accessible healthcare to adults and senior citizens through a Medical and Dental Mission held in Pintong Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal.
In coming up with this project, we took the initiative to recognize that rural communities often have limited access to medical care. This especially includes the elderly who require long-term maintenance and monitoring. This is why the Rotary Club of Marikina Valley brought essential health services directly to those in need.
The mission we conducted included free medical consultations for adults and senior citizens, free dental services, which included tooth extraction and oral health guidance, free physical therapy sessions for those with mobility, pain, or problems with posture, and the distribution of maintenance medicines, vitamins, and other wellness supplements.
On the other hand, this project did not just end there. Beyond responding and attending to their immediate medical needs, we also made sure to emphasize the importance of preventive health measures and the importance of continuous medication, regular check-ups, and wellness practices to avoid further complications.
Through “Kumpletong Alaga sa Nakatatanda,” The Rotary Club of Marikina Valley continues to uphold its commitment to an integrated and comprehensive community.
