Immediate Past President Jayson Lontok of RC Metro Pasig had invited the Yap couple to observe our club meetings. The couple are reportedly among the incorporators of TGIF (Thank God I’m Filipino) Pharmaceutical Trading, Inc., and hold influence over the company’s financial decisions.
After listening to the many discussions about service projects during the club meetings, the couple spontaneously offered to donate medicines for children, mothers, and others in need. Their generosity sparked joy among us and inspired the idea of organizing a medical mission.
At that point, the club had not yet spoken to any doctors, nor did it know how to begin the project. But as Rotary Year 2025–2026 commenced, the officers and directors realized the importance of partnering with a non-Rotarian organization—particularly a corporation. This would allow the club to introduce Rotary’s mission to their employees and encourage them to collaborate in providing medical assistance to the local community.
Sometime in August 2025, a pivotal conversation took place—one that marked the beginning of a united effort toward action, and then, on September 12, 2025, the club proceeded with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and the awarding of a Commemorative Plate to TGIF Pharmaceutical Trading, Inc. to seal the partnership.
The event was led by District Governor Gina Sanchez, Public Image Chair Rey Pineda, and their team. During the ceremony, Governor Gina highlighted Rotary's significant impact on communities, emphasizing the importance of service and collaboration as well as the need for Rotary to enhance participant engagement. She expressed strong support for the partnership between RC Metro Pasig and TGIF Pharmaceutical Trading, Inc. and encouraged both organizations to continue working together to create lasting change in their respective communities.
